It was over in a moment. Gwydion looked exhausted. She rose and ordered him to get dressed and she left the bedroom, closing the door behind her.

Daniel pulled on his clothes when he heard the front door open.

Quinten spoke. "Stay here ladies. Don't move. Don't say a word.

Gwydion, what have you done? Where is Daniel?"

"He's getting dressed in the bedroom. He won't be a moment."

"What did you do? I won't ask again."

"I healed him! You'll see. Not a mark on him! He was... grateful. We pleasured each other. Is that so wrong?"

"Yes, it is. Professors don't sleep with students."

"Who said we slept?"

"Don't patronise me. You know what I mean."

Daniel heard the overdramatic sigh. "Yes, I do. He's fine. He's healthy. Daniel!" She called out to him. "Come on out! Your circle is here too. Minus Amber, of course. Oh, and that annoying young paladin is here, too. Wonderful."

Daniel smiled at her words and obeyed and came out of the bedroom.

He saw Amy and Jasmine in the doorway and smiled at them. Their faces lit up, and they rushed over to him and hugged him. Over their heads, he saw Jennifer step through the door. She looked around the room before locking her eyes on him.

Quinten was standing with Gwydion, but she was only looking at him and it felt wonderful to be under her attention. His eyes looked over Quinten, squinting against the holy light coming off his armour.

His eye caught movement, and he tracked a strange red powder falling from Quinten.

“Time to go home, Daniel, with your ladies," said Gwydion, looking directly into his eyes.

He nodded and moved toward the door, rudely breaking apart the hug from Amy and Jasmine. Daniel moved to the door and out into the hallway and stopped, waiting for Amy and Jasmine.

Quinten looked worried. "When Jennifer came to me, she was certain you had done something to Daniel. Have you?"

"Yes. I healed him. You saw for yourself."

Quinten stared long and hard at Gwydion. “You are hiding something.

What is it?"

Gwydion kept her thoughts focused on items in her room she could hide but were clearly visible. "I'm not hiding anything."

Quinten grunted. "You are telling the truth. Barely. Very well.

Ladies, time to go. Jennifer, stay a moment."
