The doctor's words started ringing in Wesley's head. It made him angry.
“Now, we're breaking up!" he declared.
Blair clutched the bed sheets, her heart sinking.
"What did you just say?"
“We're breaking up. I only agreed to be your boyfriend to help you get rid of Orion." He sounded so ruthless that even Garnet felt bad for
Blair.
"I don't believe you! You said that you wouldn't Leave me, no matter what. It's only been a few days. Why are you doing this to me?"
Wesley snorted coldly.
"I already told you. I did it only to help you get rid of Orion."
"No, that can't be. You kissed me so many times. And you even asked me to. Blair blushed, too embarrassed to finish her sentence. Wesley knew all too well what she wanted to say.
Garnet didn't know what she was about to say, but what she said before that hurt her pretty hard. People in the army secretly talked about how
Wesley had no human feelings. She finally realized how true that was.
He was cruel not only to Blair, but also to her. Despite knowing that she Liked him, he had asked her to come to the ward to witness him and
Blair showing their affection for each other.
“It's normal for a man to be aroused by a woman," Wesley said.
Blair sobbed, but Garnet didn't buy it. It might be normal for other men, but Wesley was not any normal man. He was a trained soldier. He knew how to resist a woman's temptation.
Blair looked at him tearfully.
"Is it because I have cancer?"
“Take it however you want," he said bluntly. ‘Is that how she thinks of me? Why doesn't she reflect on her mistakes?"
To help him pull off the performance, Garnet held Wesley's arm.
Clearing her throat, she said, "Wesley has been waiting for me. Now that I'm here..."
Blair got her point without her having to finish. She watched the two of them standing together. Dressed in their uniform, they Looked like a couple in matching clothes.
That day, when they had saved her from those kidnappers, they had worked together as a perfect team. Back then, Blair had realized what kind of woman deserved Wesley—a strong-willed and capable heroine, Like
Garnet.
When Garnet had first walked into the ward, Blair had wanted to thank her for saving her life. But the cold situation deprived her of that chance.
