Dollie watched the worker pack the bottle of red wine. Sheffield took a few steps away from her and whispered to Joshua, "Evelyn's mad at me.
But I didn't do anything to piss her off. Do you know why?"
"Mad? You tell me and we'll both know," Joshua replied, jokingly.
The doctor sighed, “Just forget I asked."
He then walked around the venue and soon found Evelyn.
There were many men around her, all trying to get a word in edgewise.
From time to time, she would respond with a faint smile.
Casting a glance at the diminished amount of red wine in his glass,
Sheffield asked a waiter who carried a tray to fill his glass.
He approached the woman with a full glass of red wine.
At first, Evelyn had run into an acquaintance and was chatting with him. But she started attracting all sorts of attention. She wanted to leave, but they kept asking her questions. So she had no choice but to at least smile and nod.
"Yes, Mr. Lionel's right, but Hilton Group-" Evelyn was interrupted by someone bumping into her. She felt a spreading moisture around her waist. Then she heard a familiar voice.
“Ouch, who hit me?! Oh, my God!
Miss Evelyn, I'm so sorry. Look, it got all over you. I'm really sorry!"
Sheffield kept apologizing, but there wasn't the slightest bit of guilt in his eyes.
Evelyn's face turned cold at his words. With a smile, he took off his suit jacket and apologized to her once again.
“I'm sorry, Miss Evelyn.
I stained your dress. But don't worry; I'll buy you a new one." He gently draped his suit jacket over her shoulders, covering her back.
Several men in the crowd whispered in confusion.
“Who is this guy?
Spilling wine all over Evelyn's dress? Does he have a death wish?"
“Each of her evening dresses costs at least a million! How could he afford to pay that?"
“Who knows? The guy has light-complexioned skin. Maybe he has a sugar mama somewhere." Strangely, people were talking about Sheffield like he was a gigolo now.
"And so he lets her use his cheap coat? Isn't he afraid Miss Evelyn might get angry?"
Although he had heard everything they said, Sheffield was not going to make a fuss about it because he'd done what he set out to do. He was in
