His ambiguous words misled her. She thought that Sheffield missed her or had forgiven her.

“Okay! I'll get there soon. Wait for me," she said cheerfully.

After hanging up, Sheffield smirked. Then, he stepped on the gas pedal and drove out of the apartment complex.

At the hospital

Dollie showed up in Sheffield's office nearly an hour later.

She was dressed differently than usual. She had put on some makeup, along with a reddish-brown lipstick that made her Look more mature. She wore a wine-red cashmere coat with a belt around her waist and sported a pair of black high heels.

The style was quite similar to... Evelyn's.

Sheffield had seen Evelyn in her wine-red, long cashmere overcoat several times, each time matching it with black high heels and her reddish-brown Lipstick.

In his eyes, Dollie was nothing but a copycat.

“Sheffield! I'm here. Sorry to keep you waiting." She flashed him a flirtatious smile.

Sheffield capped his ink pen and casually put it into his pocket before standing up.

"Let's go."

“Where are we going?" Dollie asked in confusion.

He turned around and said indifferently, "You'll know when we get there."

Something felt off, but she caught up with him and said, "Sheffield, I know that I made a mistake. I will apologize to Evelyn. But please don't treat me like this, okay?"

“What did I do to you now?" Sheffield asked, pretending to be confused.

"You are still so cold to me. I feel upset when you treat me Like this.

Sheffield, please..." Dollie came closer and hugged him from behind.

“How about we get engaged? I love you so much.”

He pulled away from her.

“Don't get ahead of yourself. And you're overthinking." He walked away from her.

Dollie stomped her feet on the floor. She could do nothing but follow him.

Sheffield led her to the ultrasound room of the outpatient department.

As soon as she saw the words on the door plate, Dollie immediately understood what he was trying to do.

"Did she tell you?" she asked.
