"Babe, you are awake? Or did I wake you up?”
“I woke up before you called." Embarrassed, Evelyn lifted the covers to get out of bed.
“Okay. Remember to have breakfast! Get off work early. Let's go shopping!"
"Well, let's talk about it later," she answered. What if she was too busy to go?
“Fine! I'll send you a message on WeChat. Remember to check it. Bye, mwah!"
After that, Sheffield hung up.
Soon, her phone buzzed again when Evelyn had just put on her slippers
It was a picture sent by Sheffield. It was the results of an ultrasound. Just on the upper right corner of the photo was written a name: Dollie Todd.
She couldn't understand the photo that much, but it did say that Dollie wasn't pregnant.
"Not pregnant? Doesn't that mean she Lied to me?'
A knowing smile slowly formed on Evelyn's face. ‘I can't believe him!
No wonder he refused to answer me Last night. Looks like he just wanted to prove it to me.'
She sent the picture to Carlos and wrote, "Dad, you're getting more and more stupid. You'll get fooled." ‘Humph. Dad called me a fool when he should be calling himself that! He was tricked by a measly
20-year-old.'
Ten minutes later, Carlos replied, "Where are you?" He didn't mention anything about the photo she just sent.
Evelyn got flustered when she remembered where she was.
“I'm on my way to my office. I just had some business to deal with." She couldn't help herself-she was carried away
Carlos gave her a long answer.
“This only shows that she isn't pregnant, but that doesn't mean that she and Sheffield are innocent.
This isn't going to work."
Knowing her dad was a stubborn man, Evelyn replied, "Okay. I'll just have to figure out a way to make you believe him."
“Don't bother. Even if he and Dollie were innocent, I wouldn't allow you to be with him either."
Evelyn was angry.
"Bye, Dad!" ‘Dad is such a handful. I should have asked Mom to talk to him, ‘ she thought to herself.
Evelyn was absent-minded all day in her office because Sheffield said they were going to go shopping that evening. When she had a Little free time, she couldn't help but look at the door, wondering whether this man would come in any moment as he had done before.
