“Why?

“I want to give you a reward for making that promise. Come here and kiss me."

Evelyn giggled.

"I'm the one getting a reward, so shouldn't you lean over and kiss me?"

“I'm driving. Come on, kiss me

“Then, focus on driving. Stop being so distracted!" Evelyn refused once again.

Sheffield didn't insist.

"Well, fine. There's still a lot of chances where I could get a kiss from you. I'll start tonight." He teased her and winked at her afterward.

“Cut it out."

Sure enough, at dinner, Sheffield served the dishes that he had mentioned. He even opened a bottle of red wine and poured two glasses for them. With each other's presence, their dinner was warm and romantic.

That night, Evelyn didn't go back to the manor. She stayed at

Sheffield's place as they made the night even more romantic.

The next morning, Sheffield was already making breakfast when Evelyn woke up.

She appeared at the door of the kitchen in her pajamas. She was still very sleepy while she rubbed her eyes, trying to see what was going on.

When she saw how busy Sheffield was, she asked, "Why did you get up so early?"

“I made toast with brown sugar and preserved plums for you. Go freshen up."

“Okay." With a content smile, she leaned her head against the door frame and looked at Sheffield's back while he continued to prepare their breakfast. At that exact moment, she was so happy that she wanted to freeze the time.

Sheffield didn't hear Evelyn going to the bathroom. So when he turned around, she was still there, smiling at him.

He looked at his back and asked, "Is there something on my back?"

"No. You know, I was thinking that when you have time, we can hang out together. I'LL bring Gwyn as well."

Gwyn? His smile reached his eyes when he heard the name.

"That Little cutie is missing me again, isn't she? You decide when and just let me know. Any time is fine with me. If I have a schedule, I'll cancel it right away."

Seeing the sparkle in his eyes, Evelyn felt less worried.

Sheffield put down the tableware, washed his hands, and wiped them dry with a napkin. Then he walked up to her and hugged her.

“Your eyes are tempting me," he whispered to her.
