"So, he had someone attack you for your grandpa's notes? But, didn't you already burn that book?"
“Would you believe me if I said I burned a book that was worth millions?" He flashed her a mysterious smile.
“Didn't you?" She was Lost now.
"I did." After a pause, he continued, "But Pierson doesn't believe that
I would burn such a valuable book. He repeatedly beat around the bush to ask me about the notes."
“But, you are brothers. How could he harm you?" She was shaken by how heartless his family was towards him.
"Brothers?" A dash of mockery flitted across Sheffield's eyes.
"I'm just his half-brother. He wouldn't mind killing his own brother for something so valuable. The Thompson family members are selfish that way. Nothing is more important to any of them than their own interests."

“What? A centimeter from the junction of..." Evelyn murmured to herself as she looked at the middle of her left collarbone, “And the fifth rib... Sheffield, where is the fifth rib?"
Sheffield was amused by her confused, but serious look. He kissed her cheek, which had turned rosy because of the hot bath.
"The woman who is in my heart."
“The woman in your heart..
"Yes, the woman in my heart
She stopped abruptly.
"he repeated, smiling at her.
She suddenly blushed and avoided Looking into his eyes. She feigned ignorance and asked deliberately, “And who might that be?" She wanted to hear it from him.
"Take a guess."
"How would I know?"
He blew gently on her ear.
