Now, the truth came to Light.
Sheffield didn't think he would find out the truth by sheer accident.
What Luck!
The blow had knocked the man prone. He lay still, stunned for a while, before raising his head.
"What are you doing?!"
Instead of giving him an explanation, Sheffield continued to punch him to vent his anger, which made the man cry out in pain.
The woman was in no mood to help him. He had already shown her his true colors, and she had the bruises to prove it. She simply grabbed her child's hand and took her kid back home.
Finally, Evelyn asked Felix to try and stop Sheffield. She didn't want her hubby getting in trouble.
“That's enough, Sheffield. Let's leave him for the cops." She had plans to sue the man.
Sheffield glared at the battered man and said angrily, “Just wait and see. You'll rot in jail!" Everything fell apart because of this man.
Evelyn had an ectopic pregnancy, almost ending her life. Because of that, Carlos hated Sheffield, and the young doctor had to prove his love. He and Evelyn would have been married, if not for this man.
Thinking of this, Sheffield decisively took out his cellphone and called the police.
When the police came, the man was confused about what happened and was taken away.
Both Evelyn and Sheffield had called a lawyer. They both filed charges against the man and his other companion.
Since the crime occurred in Flando, their Lawyers left in a hurry after getting the material ready.
They worked together to have the man and his companion tried in the courts there.
The case was an easy one. The two defendants had frittered away their money, so they had no funds to hire a lawyer themselves. And they were not qualified to apply for legal aid. They could only wait for sentencing.
Sheffield had ordered two assistants to appear in the court on his and
Evelyn's behalf.
They weren't going to tell Carlos about it, because the old man was well-informed enough to uncover the truth in no time.
Sure enough, Carlos called the pair. Their lawyers and assistants were still on the road, trying to get to the courthouse.
They were shooting pre-wedding pics in ceremonial garb, in a town with a long history. Evelyn picked up and explained everything to Carlos.
She wanted to tell him that Sheffield was innocent from the beginning, but it didn't sound appropriate. So, in the end, she added, "So Dad,
Sheffield didn't have anything to do with this. You were wrong about him."
“Okay, I know." Carlos wasn't going to bring up the incident anymore.
