Evelyn thought about it. Last night, he had sent her a message saying that he was at a party with some friends.
‘Were there women in the party too? Did he spend the night with one of them?"
Evelyn chuckled and raised her glass.
"Thank you for the information.
I'll ask him tonight."
Gifford put his arm on Joshua's shoulder and assured her, “You are welcome, Evelyn. We're always on your side. To hell with Sheffield and his friendship. We will supervise him for you!"
The table burst into laughter again.
Sheffield walked towards them with a wine bottle. When he approached the table, he heard what Gifford just said.
"Hey, hey! I've only been away for a minute, and you are already snitching on me! You two don't waste any time, do you?"
Evelyn Looked at him tenderly and answered for them, "They were just saying what a great guy you are."
“That doesn't sound like them at all!" he said. ‘I smell a trick in the air, ' Sheffield thought to himself.
Besides, he could sense a trace of annoyance on Evelyn's face.
He squinted at his buddies, who were trying hard to stifle their laughter.
"Guys! Whoever tells me the truth will get a reward from me."
He showed them the bottle and continued, "This is a limited edition wine. The market price is more than a hundred thousand dollars. Whoever tells me what these two assholes said to my wife will get this bottle.”
Gifford and Joshua exchanged secret glances with Evelyn. The bride instantly understood. She interrupted Sheffield, “Honey, I would like to have that bottle.”
He kissed her earlobe and whispered, “Honey, I'll buy you a better one later. This is to bribe my buddies here."
"But I Like the patterns on this bottle," she said with a pout.
Sheffield couldn't refuse after seeing that look on her face. He had to hand the bottle to her, and then glared at Gifford and Joshua.
Before moving on to the next table, Evelyn quietly let go of
Sheffield's hand and put the bottle back on the table.
“Actually, I just remembered that I can't drink. You guys enjoy it," she said with a wink.
“Thank you, Mrs. Thompson!"
"Thank you so much, Evelyn! You are an angel!" Joshua praised.
Evelyn had no time to drink expensive wine. She had scores to settle with Sheffield.
