“If you're free, I'd like you to come with me to the eastern district. There's a tour company owned by the Harris Group that I need to check out," Gerard explained.

Taking a bite of the fish, Lilah considered for a moment before replying, "I'll have to check my schedule. If I'm free, I'll join you."

"Alright," Gerard said, placing most of the fish onto her plate.

“This fish hardly has any bones. Enjoy," he said softly.

Lilah chuckled lightly. "I'll end up gaining weight.”

Most girls wanted to be thin and Light.

Lilah was no different.

Gerard's eyes lit up as he turned to Lilah. “I'll marry you no matter your size."

“Hahaha!" Lilah's laughter filled the room at his words, a shy smile dancing on her lips.

Though not the smoothest line, it was undeniably sweet.

"You're not usually this mushy," Lilah teased, nudging him playfully.

A puzzled look crossed Gerard's face. “Really?”

"Yeah! You used to be so distant, but now you're different," Lilah said seriously.

"It's all because of you, then and now," Gerard confessed, sincerity shining in his eyes as he looked at her.

Lilah couldn't help but laugh again.

This marked the second time today she had truly felt happy.

“Gerard, I need to talk to you," she said gravely, her smile fading as she locked eyes with him across the table.

Gerard nodded, prompting her to continue.

"Botanic's growth is steady. Let's consider getting engaged once we've expanded internationally."

It was a decision she had mulled over extensively.

She recognized Gerard's kindness toward her. He had rescued her in times of peril and cared for her during her hospital stay.

He had been her rock, and she wouldn't let his efforts go to waste.

Plus, Jerrold deserved a stable family.

After a moment of silence, Gerard arched an eyebrow and asked, “Have you thought this through?"
