"Absolutely," she said with a decisive nod. “Gerard, you've been there for me in so many ways. It's time for me to reciprocate."

At her words, a soft smile tugged at the corners of Gerard's Lips.

After lunch, he drove Lilah to the Phillips Group building. As she made to step out of the car, Gerard's voice halted her. "Lilah."

"Yes." She turned back, meeting his gaze.

Their eyes locked, and Gerard made a pledge. “I'll ensure our wedding is magnificent."

"I believe you." Lilah smiled. She had full confidence in him. “Drive safely," she added.

With a nod, Gerard watched until she disappeared from sight before turning toward his workplace.

Upon arrival, he dialed Walter's number. "Meet me in the office."

Next on his agenda was a call to Bexley. After he made the arrangements, a knock sounded at the door.

“Come in," Gerard said, glancing up at the door.

Walter entered. "What can I do for you?"

"I'll be heading to the eastern district the day after tomorrow," Gerard said.

"You're leaving the day after tomorrow? I thought you said you'd leave later?" Walter asked.

Gerard paused from his computer work to answer, "It's July now. I want to finish up the boring tasks, and there's something else I need to take care of."

Lilah had agreed to get engaged to him, and he was eager to explore romantic places once he was done with his fieldwork.

Walter's curiosity was piqued. "What's that? Can I assist you?"

"Better handle your own tasks first."

Walter realized there was more behind Gerard's words, his smile fading. "I'll have a chat with Effie tomorrow at noon."

Gerard made a note, “Alright, when you're back, I'll share the itinerary with you tomorrow afternoon. There are a couple of contracts that need your signature. I'll be visiting the eastern district the morning after next."

"Got it."

Just as Gerard was discussing his visit, Bexley arrived and caught wind of it.

She approached the door with a subtle smile and knocked.

"Come in!" Gerard looked up at the door.

Bexley stepped in, fixing her eyes on the attractive man behind the desk. A blush crept up her cheeks, her pulse quickening.
