“Alright, I'll take Bexley along this time, but just once." Gerard conceded, worried Bexley would ruin his plan.
Richard simply nodded in response.
Heading toward his office, Gerard dialed Bexley's number, adopting a serious tone. "Come to my office."
“What's wrong, Gerard?" Bexley asked, despite knowing his intention.
"We'll talk when you're here," he replied curtly.
Ending the call, Gerard rode the elevator to the top floor.
Approaching his office, he spotted Bexley, dressed professionally with flawless makeup, her usual ponytail abandoned.
With a polite smile, Bexley greeted him. “Gerard.”
Ignoring her greeting, Gerard pushed open the door and stepped inside.
Meeting his gaze, Bexley couldn't help but shiver. His stare was intense, sending a chill down her spine.
Feeling like she was being hunted, she remained frozen in place, afraid to make a move.
Timidly lowering her face, Bexley followed Gerard into the office.
Taking his seat behind the desk, Gerard fixed her an icy gaze.
"Sometimes, being too clever can make a fool of yourself."
Gerard exuded a strong aura.
Despite her anxiety, Bexley tried to sound calm and respectful.
"Gerard, I really don't want to miss out on this unique chance to learn. I promise I won't bother you again."
As Gerard opened his mouth to respond, the phone interrupted him. He glanced at Bexley and instructed, “Get your things. You're coming with me."
"Thanks, Gerard. I'll make sure you don't regret this." A grateful smile lit up Bexley's face, accentuating her dimples.
Gerard remained silent and then answered the call.
"Gerard, I'm at the entrance of your company," Lilah said.
Peering out the window, Gerard hesitated before speaking. "Lilah, I have to tell you something."
"Go ahead," she encouraged. Lilah sounded upbeat.
He explained, “Bexley insisted on joining. Initially, I said no, but she contacted my father. Since our dads are close, I'm obliged to bring her."
