She blushed, picturing Gerard being dazzled by her.

Hurrying, she neared Gerard's door, annoyed that Lilah was next door.

A fleeting expression of displeasure crossed her face.

She called Gerard and asked, "Hey, which room are you in? I'm set."

"There are two rooms with the doors open. I'm in the one closer to the end of the corridor," he replied.

"Got it."

Hanging up, Bexley barged into his room.

"Gerard! Sorry to bug you."

Before Bexley could complete her words, her smile disappeared, realizing the room was empty.

Where was Gerard?

Had she entered the wrong room?

With that in mind, she left the room and made her way to the next one. She asked cautiously, "Gerard?"

Still, no one replied.

Entering, she found that both rooms were unoccupied.

A few seconds later, she realized: Gerard and Lilah had already left.

She was all alone.

Frustration made her clench her teeth.

Meanwhile, standing in front of the large French window, admiring the stunning view of the whole city, Lilah couldn't help but sigh deeply within.

Loneliness often brings thoughts of home.

And it was true.

Her eyes lifted to the expansive blue sky, wandering to thoughts of her mother.

Who was her mother?

Was her mother truly dead?

The questions spinning in her head pulled her into a whirlwind of memories.
