Gerard hummed in response and exited through the front door.
While waiting for Gerard, Lilah sipped her milk and scrolled through her WhatsApp messages.
Only a couple of group texts popped up.
Lilah's mind went to her workload and she called Emma to check in.
“Hey Emma, are there any documents requiring my attention today? I'm working from home today."
Emma reported back, "No, nothing urgent... however..."
"Spit it out," Lilah urged.
Emma then relayed that Matthew had been looking for her. "Miss Phillips, what should I do if he comes around again?"
“Just tell him I'm not available to see him," Lilah replied coolly.
"Okay."
“Alright, that's all for now. Give me a call if you need anything,"
Lilah replied before ending the call.
She had just put down her phone when the door opened. She looked up to see Gerard walking in.
Now clad in a suit, he took a seat across from her.
"Drink up; any later and the milk would've been cold." Lilah pushed the other glass of milk toward him. "Here you go."
Gerard took a sip and smiled at her. “I'm not going to work today. How about I help you move instead? Am I moving to your place, or are you moving to mine?"
"I'll move over to your place." Lilah thought about their living situation for a moment and then wondered, "But do we really need to move? We're already neighbors."
Their homes were already so close.
“Actually, I have another plan. Our apartments are too far from both our companies. Let's move to another house." Gerard already had a plan in place in case she agreed to his suggestion.
"If you've made the arrangements, then it's fine with me." Lilah had no issue with living somewhere else.
"Cool."
After they finished their breakfast, Gerard made some calls. In just one morning, he had all their belongings moved to the new house.
At noon, Lilah was preparing to head over to the new place when she suddenly received a call from an unknown number.
She frowned but ultimately decided to answer the call. "Hello, who's this?"
