“I'LL call you when it's ready," Gerard promised, an endearing smile on his face.
Lilah changed her shoes and left.
As she drove, Lilah couldn't stop wondering why the waitress at the coffee shop agreed to help Bexley hide the truth.
When she arrived at the coffee shop, she walked in and was greeted warmly, "Miss, would you like an Americano or..."
Lilah glanced around the place. The waitress she was looking for wasn't there. She turned to the receptionist and said, "Just a cup of hot water for me. The view here is nice; I thought I'd come in and enjoy it."
The receptionist smiled. "Sure, pick any seat, and I'll have someone bring it to you."
Fishing for information, Lilah asked deliberately, “By the way, how many waitresses do you have here?"
The receptionist casually remarked, "We currently have six waitresses working in our coffee shop."
Six?
Lilah had only seen five waitresses. She asked, "But I've only seen five right now. Where's the other one?"
"She's out making some extra cash by delivering food," the receptionist elaborated with a smile.
Before long, voices from outside interrupted their conversation. “Hey, Siena, you're back!"
"Yeah," Siena Brewer replied, pushing the door open with a sweet smile as she entered.
The receptionist looked up at Siena with a smile and introduced her to Lilah. "This is Siena Brewer, the sixth girl from our store, and she's the most capable one we've got."
"The most capable? Now you're just teasing me," Siena protested, her cheeks turning red.
The receptionist chuckled at Siena's reaction.
Lilah observed the newcomer and made a guess. "Isn't your online nickname ‘Golden Sunshine Girl'?"™
Siena glanced at her, but before she could respond, the receptionist interjected, “That's correct! Siena's online nickname is indeed "Golden Sunshine Girl'."
Then, the receptionist chuckled and glanced at Lilah. "Don't tell me you made the trip just to see Siena?"
Siena appeared slightly taken aback by the unexpected attention.
Lilah maintained her smile as she addressed the receptionist. "You caught me. I did come specifically to see her."
She admitted before turning to Siena. "Let's grab a seat and chat."
With that, she headed toward a table by the window and settled into a chair.
"Sure," Siena agreed.
