With this recorded conversation, Lilah held the power to turn the situation in her favor.
Back in her room, Bexley wore a satisfied smile.
She didn't need to lift a finger now; she could simply wait for Lilah's reputation to be ruined.
As Bexley reveled in her satisfaction, her phone suddenly began to ring.
Seeing it was a video call from her mom, Kassidy Yates, she answered, “Mom, what's going on? Why are you calling?"
"Bexley..." Kassidy's voice trailed off as she noticed the bandages on Bexley's face. Concern etched her features as she inquired, “Bexley, what happened to you? Why do you have bandages on your face? Who did this to you?"
Her father, Jason Yates, drawn by the conversation, approached and also noticed the bandages. Frowning, he raised his voice. "Bexley, you haven't been gone for long. How did you end up getting injured on your face?"
"Dad, Mom, it's Lilah Phillips' doing. She's furious because I'm getting close to Gerard, and she did this to my face."
Immediately, Jason became furious. "I can't believe it! I'm calling Richard right this minute. We're going over, and he's going to give me an explanation. Don't you worry, sweetheart; we'll make sure that woman regrets this!"
Then, Kassidy chimed in, "I'm eager to see who this troublemaker is for myself."
Bexley felt a wave of relief wash over her, comforted by the fact that her parents and Richard were in her corner. She believed this time, Lilah would finally face the consequences of her actions.
With this thought, she murmured, “Dad, Mom, I'll meet you when you get here.”
“There's no need for that. I'm heading straight to Richard," Jason said gently. “Dear, after we sort this out, you're coming home with us."
"That's right! Come back home!" Kassidy insisted. "No one's there to take care of you, and I'm getting worried."
Bexley wasn't ready to leave yet since she hadn't fully won Gerard's heart, so she evaded. “Mom, can we discuss this later?"
"Oh, your stubbornness!" her mom exclaimed, concern lacing her words.
At that moment, a maid called out from outside the door, "Miss Yates, Mr. Richard Harris has sent for you. He wishes to speak with you."
Bexley responded, “Mom, I've got to go. Richard wants to see me."
“Go ahead. Your father just got off the phone with him, and we're heading over."
"Alright." Bexley nodded, feeling reassured by her parents’ support.
After ending the call, she headed downstairs.
Spotting Richard and Brenda together, she walked over and greeted them warmly, "Mr. Harris, did you want to talk to me?"
Richard looked up at her and said, "Your dad mentioned he's on his way here."
Then he paused before asking Bexley with a serious tone, “I need to talk to you about something important. You have to be completely honest with me, okay?"
