Hearing that, Bexley seethed.
She had aimed to smear Lilah's reputation, but now...
Did that waitress betray her?
Feeling everyone's eyes on her, Bexley flushed.
Tension filled the air.
"Did you forget what you just said, Miss Yates?" Lilah reminded.
Bexley's face paled and she apologized, “My bad. I shouldn't have accused you."
Lilah warned, "This is your last chance, Miss Yates. Next time, I won't be so nice."
Bexley bit her lip. Her fists clenched. She was feeling awkward now.
Jason stepped up to bust the awkwardness. “Miss Phillips, I am sorry about my daughter's behavior."
"Mr. Yates, it's not too late to straighten her out now. Next time might not be as easy," Lilah advised, seeing he stuck to his word.
He nodded, feeling ashamed. Then he glared at Bexley. "Is this what you wanted justice for?"
Bexley shied away, wanting to speak but faltered. "Dad..."
He scolded, “Is this how I raised you? Did I teach you to twist things? Have you forgotten all that I taught you?"
His hand hovered, ready to strike.
Terrified, Bexley sought refuge behind her mom, hoping for her to intervene.
Kassidy shielded her daughter. "She needs a good lesson, but let's wait until her face has healed. Do you want her scarred?"
Hearing this, Jason sighed and embarrassment overcame him.
Kassidy glanced at Lilah. "You're strong, Miss Phillips, and very cool under pressure. I am sorry about my daughter. I'll sort her out."
Lilah stayed cool. "Mrs. Yates, you heard what I told Bexley earlier. Next time..."
Kassidy assured, "No worries, Miss Phillips. I can assure you it won't happen again."
Then she turned to Richard and Brenda. "I am sorry about Bexley's conduct."
She felt embarrassed and wanted to leave as soon as she possibly could.
Jason approached Richard. "Richard, there's been too much fuss about my girl. I'll take her back later."
