Since the formula didn't belong to Lilah, she couldn't be accused of stealing it, even if she used it.
Milly's tone was steady. "I have no demands. I simply noticed Lilah claimed the stolen formula as her own, and I couldn't stand by."
Her statement convinced Karol. She responded, "I'm impressed by your integrity. Hand over the formula, and I'll unveil Lilah's deception."
"Sure." Milly placed the document on the desk.
Karol's perception of Milly shifted slightly. “If you need anything, feel free to contact me."
“Thank you, Miss Morris." With her objective accomplished, Milly turned and exited the room.
As she left, a smug smile played on her lips. She muttered under her breath, "Lilah, you're about to lose your reputation."
Then, her phone buzzed.
Milly's demeanor shifted to one of reverence upon seeing the caller's name. She answered, "Hello."
“What's the status?" a stern male voice asked from the other end.
Milly replied softly, “All is progressing well."
“Act swiftly on your revenge. This is your prime opportunity. Any delay might expose you, rendering your efforts fruitless.”
“I understand. I'll do it right away." Milly also knew that she couldn't delay.
“I'll await your update," the man stated softly.
“Understood.”
Once Milly departed, Karol scrutinized the formula closely. After perusing it, she arched her eyebrows slightly and said, "The individual behind this formula is well-versed not only in skincare products but also in medicine. I wish I could uncover who wrote it."
She excitedly called her staff and said, "Send the director of the research and development department to me."
Holding the formula, Karol sensed she had stumbled upon something invaluable.
She set aside her phone, engrossed in the formula, increasingly impressed by the intellect behind it.
After her work, Lilah returned home only to find that Gerard hadn't arrived yet.
She wandered into the kitchen and noticed some fresh vegetables.
Deciding on a lighter meal, she resolved to prepare a vegetarian dinner.
Then, she promptly started the prep work.
She rinsed the vegetables, turned on the stove, wore an apron, and started cooking.
