As the sun dipped lower in the sky, Milly arrived at the Morris Group skyscraper with a confident man at her side. On the phone with Karol, she said, "Hey Miss Morris, someone's here to see you."
Karol's voice, unruffled, came through. "Come on up."
Ending the call, Milly faced her companion. "You've got that formula etched in your brain, right?"
He flashed a grin. “Absolutely, I won't make a mistake."
She gave a nod of approval and made her way into the lobby, with him in her wake.
Together, they rode the elevator skyward. Arriving at Karol's office, Milly swung the door open, revealing Karol at her desk. “Miss Morris."
Karol looked up, her eyes then darting to the stranger. "Is he the one you were talking about?"
"That's him," Milly confirmed.
A flicker of confusion crossed Karol's face. "How is meeting him going to help me? And I need to know, Milly, was Lilah really not the brains behind the formula?"
Milly's reply was evasive, draped in mystery. “You'll get your answers when you learn who he is.”
Interest piqued, Karol leaned forward. “Really now?"
Milly addressed the man. “This is Miss Morris. You've got news for her, right? Spill it."
Karol's curiosity peaked. “Who might you be?"
He stepped forward, confidently declaring, "I created the Botanic skincare formula."
Karol, caught off guard, pressed, "You mean you're the original creator?"
Her composure began to unravel.
The man remained unfazed. "Absolutely."
Karol, her skepticism hanging in the air, pressed, “And why should I take your word for it?"
With readiness, he offered, "Miss Morris, give me just a moment to pen down the formula for you."
“If you do that, I'll consider believing you," she replied. The wheels were turning in Karol's head as the man confidently requested some writing materials and began to scribe with intensity.
When he finished, Karol's review of his work against the original left no room for doubt.
She was sold on its authenticity.
Turning to Milly, she inquired, "How did you come across him?"
Milly responded with a gentle voice, "Miss Morris, I figured you'd need more than my word, so I had my friend do some investigation. I wanted to make sure we had solid proof for you."
