In her mind, Milly admired how thoughtful her boss was. With this move, their plan would go more smoothly.
“You surround yourself with some impressive individuals."
“My friend..." Milly started, offering some brief explanation.
With a sigh of relief, Karol turned back to the man. “What's on your agenda talking to me?"
He was forthright. "Miss Morris, I'm seeking your aid to unveil Lilah's true character."
Karol paused, and then made her decision. "Your formula is in my hands now. I'll stand by you."
Considering the possibilities, she contemplated enhancing the formula with his insight.
His expression brightened. “Your support means the world, Miss Morris.”
Watching the exchange, Milly chimed in, “Miss Morris, perhaps this is the opportune moment for a new release."
Karol had other plans brewing. "A new product can wait. It's time for the truth to come out. Tomorrow's press conference will set everything straight."
A successful press conference could spell the end of Lilah's career in the industry, Karol thought.
The man offered his gratitude with a nod. "I'm indebted to you, Miss Morris."
With a warm smile, Milly added, “I'll be eager to hear about the success, Miss Morris. I'm off now."
"Of course," Karol affirmed, a smile playing on her lips.
As he prepared to depart, the man said, “I should get going as well, Miss Morris."
She gave a reassuring nod. “Visit me tomorrow afternoon. We'll sort everything out for you."
“Understood, he acknowledged."
With the room clearing, Karol reached out to her assistant. “Arrange a press conference for tomorrow afternoon, please."
Curiosity piqued about their latest product, she asked for an update.
The assistant brought good tidings. "The demand is soaring, and we're all hands on deck to fulfill the orders!"
Pleased, Karol instructed, "Stay vigilant and report back with any developments. And make sure the press conference announcement goes up on the web."
"Absolutely, consider it done," her assistant responded efficiently.
That evening, as Lilah stepped into her home, a call from Brenda came before she could even slip out of her shoes. "Brenda," she answered.
"Lilah, I've been reading the stories online, and I just can't picture you doing such a thing." Brenda's voice carried a weight of belief in Lilah.
