"No one can save her now. She's finished. The police is already on the way," someone in the crowd said.
The man sitting beside Karol broke into a smile when he heard this.
He could already see dollar signs dancing before his eyes.
“Hey Lilah," Karol said in a sarcastic tone, “do you think that taking forever will change anything? If it's not yours, no amount of stalling would help."
She checked the time. Ten minutes had already passed. Why would it take so long to write a formula?
Clearly, Lilah was stumped.
“Why even bother, Miss Phillips? You might as well get ready to spill the beans when the cops get here."
"You kept saying that it's your formula. So, why is it taking so long?"
“Miss Phillips, you should grow a conscience. Snatching someone's work is such a low thing to do.”
But Lilah ignored all the criticism and focused on what she was doing. When she finished, she passed her paper to the lead representative. "Sorry, but this is not meant to be shared. Hope you understand?" she whispered to him.
"Got it, Miss Phillips." He nodded with a smile.
"Thanks," Lilah said in gratitude.
The people around still didn't believe her.
"Still putting on an act, eh? What's even the point?"
"It seems they're tight. Hope the experts aren't playing favorites here."
"When the cops come, we'll see if they can still cover for her."
Meanwhile, the lead representative was looking through Lilah's formula and nodding his head approvingly.
The man sitting beside Karol, on his part, felt even more smug as he watched the lead guy study the formulas.
As for Karol, she already had everything set up on her end. She was just waiting for the experts to announce the results so that she would make Lilah and the Phillips Group pay dearly.
In fact, everyone in the place was eager to see Lilah get disgraced.
ALL of a sudden, the lead representative turned to the crowd and announced, "Miss Phillips did not steal anyone's formula."
There was complete silence for a moment. Then the room erupted into utter chaos.
The man's face turned pale, and he blurted out, "That's impossible!"
For crying out loud, my formula is the correct one!
