“Busy as you are, Lilah, you still find the time for your son's camp activities."

Without hesitation, Lilah fired back, “If you can come, why can't I make it?"

The conversation took a turn when Jenna's sneering comment cut through. “I suggest you homeschool your son due to his autism potentially affecting the mood of the other children."

As Jenna dwelled on the boy's condition, envy and resentment bubbled within her. Her daughter's abilities, it seemed, paled in comparison to his, a thought that fueled her growing ire.

The other parents, previously mere onlookers, were now drawn into the unfolding drama, sensing the undercurrent of discord between Lilah and Jenna.

Approaching Jenna with a disarming chuckle, Lilah retorted, “It seems to me that a person who only focuses on flaws cannot possibly provide a positive upbringing."

Jenna, caught off guard, could only utter, "You"

Her face was a canvas of growing frustration and contempt as she faced Lilah.

Unperturbed, Lilah pressed on, "I suggest you learn more. Learning is lifelong, after all. My son simply chooses silence, but ignorance, once exposed, is a difficult thing to mask."

Jenna, her composure slipping away like sand through fingers, Lashed out with a taunt, “And what are you? Just a boldfaced woman clinging to Gerard. Do you really believe you have his commitment?"

Unruffled by Jenna's barbs, Lilah responded evenly, “Your concern seems misplaced. Why does it matter to you?"

Jenna's expression darkened with malice. "You're out of your depth, Lilah. You don't belong with the Harris family."

Lilah countered coolly, "Do you really think you have the authority to make that decision? Keep your contempt to yourself. I can assure you, my patience has limits, especially when it comes to my son."

Jenna, rattled by Lilah's unflinching demeanor, spat out a venomous warning. "Just you wait, Lilah."

Choosing to disengage, Lilah turned away, positioning herself among the other parents, awaiting the teacher's instructions.

The teacher arrived shortly, her demeanor welcoming as she addressed the gathering. "We're delighted to have you join us for today's activities. We have a couple of engaging games lined up, and there's a special gift for the children who excel in the games."

Right after the teacher stopped talking, the kids were eager to give it a try, curious about the prize that awaited them.

The light of excitement appeared in some kids' eyes. They exclaimed, "Let's get started."

“I'll be the top performer this time," a boy said confidently.

Vera glanced at the young boy and said, “Stop dreaming."

Without realizing it, she took a look at Jerrold and squinted a bit.

She secretly set a target. She thought she would win the prize.

Jerrold remained unbothered and didn't seem to care much.

“We'll just have to wait and see," retorted the boy, smirking.
