Jenna and Vera, working in sync, quickly caught up.

Vera, eyeing Jerrold, declared confidently to her mother, "Mom, I'm going to win first place."

"I'm sure of it. You'll be the winner." Jenna expressed her full confidence.

Lilah and Jerrold remained unfazed by what was happening around them.

Whenever they felt the balloon's strap loosen, they would slow down their pace.

In a few minutes, they had overtaken most of the other families.

Jenna and Vera were nearing the finish line, and Vera's excitement was obvious. The teacher sensed a winner emerging and praised, "Well done, Vera is close to finishing. Excellent. The rest of you, pick up the pace!"

Vera's face Lit up with a smug smile, convinced she would be the one who won first place.

Jenna's smile broadened upon hearing the teacher's encouraging words.

Right when she was feeling relaxed, she noticed Lilah and Jerrold catching up, ready to surpass them.

Concerned for Jerrold's well-being, Lilah checked in, saying, “If you're tired, just let me know, Jerrold.”

“I feel fine, Mommy," Jerrold assured her with a bright smile.

"Great," she responded with relief.

The teacher announced, “Look, Jerrold is catching up. It's anyone's game now. Let's see who wins!"

Fearful that Lilah might win, Jenna's eyes narrowed, and she marched up to Lilah and hit her directly.

Caught off guard by Jenna's sudden move, Vera fell and their balloon burst as she hit the ground.

Lilah, despite being shoved, managed to regain her balance and instinctively protected her child, asking with concern, "Are you all right, Jerrold?"

"It's fine, Mommy. Let's continue," Jerrold offered reassuringly.

She sighed in relief and gave Jenna a cold glance. Thankfully, Jerrold was okay. Otherwise, she'd surely give Jenna a lesson.

"Alright." Lilah agreed and walked forward with Jerrold.

Meanwhile, Jenna and Vera were out of the competition due to Vera's fall and the popped balloon.

Ultimately, Jerrold secured first place.

The teacher announced the result. "Congratulations to Jerrold and his mother for winning first place in the balloon game. We'll take a ten minute break before the next game begins."

Following the announcement, the children started having fun in their own ways.
