The teacher instructed, “Let's begin. Here are the Sudoku sheets. Kids, grab one each, and parents, please step back."
The children eagerly grabbed the sheets.
ALL of a sudden, Lilah's phone rang.
She excused herself to answer. "What's happened?"
“Miss Phillips, a business partner wants to have a word with you.”
Emma relayed the message over the phone.
After a brief pause, Lilah decided, “I've got something to handle at the moment. Arrange the meeting for tonight."
"Understood, I'll make the reservation." Emma confirmed.
Then Lilah ended the call.
After pocketing her phone, she turned around and overheard a nearby parent exclaim in amazement, "This Jerrold kid is truly impressive!"
"It looks like he's about to finish already."
“He must be familiar with Sudoku to solve it so fast," someone speculated.
To everyone's astonishment, Jerrold had already finished.
Vera gazed at him in disbelief, feeling a surge of resentment.
How did he solve it so fast?
With the activities concluding, the teacher announced cheerfully, "Congratulations! Jerrold has completed the game and emerged as the ultimate winner. Here's a special gift for you."
She took out a scroll of painting from her bag and presented it to Jerrold.
Jerrold accepted it and said, "Thank you."
“It's my pleasure. And with that, our summer camp concludes. You're free to go back now." The teacher bid the children farewell.
"Goodbye," the children said.
While they were heading home, Lilah's phone rang-it was Gerard on the line.
Once the call connected, a deep and captivating voice filled the air.
"Lilah, are you back home?"
"I'm on my way back. Jerrold came out on top in the summer camp competition, winning first place," Lilah shared with a hint of joy.
