Arriving at the First Mall, Lilah stepped out of her car and strode into the bustling hall. Making her way to the elevator, she ascended to the third floor, scanning each shop in search of the perfect suit.
Shop after shop yielded no satisfactory results. As she neared the end of the corridor, her gaze fell upon a boutique on the north side, boasting a suit radiating an elegant allure.
Intrigued, she stepped inside the shop to examine it closely.
At that moment, a shop assistant sidled up to Lilah with a friendly smile. "Hello, miss. Who's the lucky guy you're shopping for? This suit's the last one we've got, and it's tailored for someone with a slim frame."
Lilah contemplated for a moment before replying, “Bring me the suit. I'd like to take a closer look.”
“sure thing, just give me a sec," the shop assistant said, darting off to retrieve the suit.
As Lilah waited, a familiar voice broke through the air.
“Lilah, fancy meeting you here."
Lilah's expression shifted as she turned to see Marlene approaching, decked out in the latest fashion trends.
Unwilling to engage in conversation, Lilah braced herself, feeling weary of Marlene's presence.
But Marlene persisted, undeterred by Lilah's silence. With a smirk, she continued, "Lilah, everything you have is all thanks to Gerard. Quite the setup you've got! But what would your grandfather think if he knew you were depending on men to save the group?"
Just as Lilah was about to speak, the shop assistant had already taken the suit and handed it to her. "Please take a look. If it's to your liking, you can take it."
She nodded. "Okay, I'll check it out first."
Noticing that Lilah had disregarded her twice, Marlene said angrily, “Are you deaf?"
“Did you say something?" Lilah responded, feigning ignorance.
"You..." Just as Marlene was about to scold, Lilah said, "ALL I heard was a dog barking in my ear."
The shop assistant struggled to hold back a laugh.
Fuming with embarrassment, Marlene yelled, “Lilah, you bitch, how dare you compare me to a dog?"
Lilah smirked. "I never called you that. You just owned up to it. Looks like you recognize yourself quite well."
Repeatedly humiliated, Marlene couldn't take it anymore. She Lifted her hand, aiming to slap Lilah in a fit of rage.
But as Marlene’s hand came up, Lilah swiftly caught it and said coldly, “Don't test me, or I won't hesitate to slap you harder."
Her grip tightened.
Marlene was startled by Lilah's cold eyes. Pain shot through her hand, becoming unbearable.
She exclaimed, "Lilah, let go of me!"
