Lilah scoffed, "Miss Morris, perhaps you should be looking for whoever is actually responsible for your company's losses, not me, Had you not stolen the formula, none of this would have happened."
"Lilah, you..." Karol was left speechless.
Lilah added firmly, “If you're looking to cut corners, you should be prepared to face the consequences, instead of blaming others."
With that, she walked straight out of the airport.
Karol, watching her leave so decisively, grew even more infuriated.
“Lilah, if I have something on you one day, I'll make sure to repay the embarrassment you caused me," she muttered to herself.
Then, recalling something Lilah had mentioned, Karol grabbed her phone and called Milly. “How dare you deceive me?"
Milly laughed on the other end and said, "What are you accusing me of, Miss Morris? I don't think your accusations are fair."
She was more eager than anyone to tarnish Lilah's reputation.
Karol retorted, “If you hadn't passed me that formula and claimed that the man you brought was its rightful owner, I wouldn't be in this mess."
"Miss Morris, everything I did was for you. I tried every trick in the book to tarnish Lilah's name. But I never imagined she'd be ready for it. It's not a sight we want. All I can say is, she's smarter than we thought."
Since Milly couldn't get what she wanted directly from Lilah, she aimed to target someone close to her.
She was convinced she could win this battle.
Karol scoffed, “Just so you know, I'm not someone you can easily manipulate."
She now understood that Milly was only using her against Lilah.
Milly's tone shifted as she replied indifferently, "Miss Morris, you're mistaken. How could I possibly exploit you? Destroying Lilah is our shared goal. It's not about using each other; it's about needing each other."
With Karol's support, her chances of achieving revenge seemed more promising.
The Morris Group was influential and could provide significant assistance.
Then, Karol ended the call.
At that moment, one of her associates said, "Miss Morris, it's time to board."
“Follow my instructions once we arrive," Karol directed firmly.
The men responded, "Understood."
Meanwhile, at the filming site, as the play was nearing its end, Effie felt a sense of relief. With guidance, she had managed to take better control of the play.
The director, pleased with the progress, smiled as he reviewed the footage. “This is good. We just have one last scene. Come on, Effie.”
