Lance shot back angrily, "Lilah, it was you, wasn't it? You smeared my name to Mr. Barton. How dare—"

Before he could complete his sentence, two police officers walked in from outside, their eyes fixed on Lance. One of them said in a stern tone, “Lance Phillips, you're involved in extortion. You're coming with us for questioning."

As they spoke, the two police officers positioned themselves on either side of him, ready to escort him out.

"Let go of me. I'm innocent." Lance resisted, trying to stay put.

But the police paid no mind and dragged him away forcibly.

Reaching the doorway, Lance turned back and yelled at Lilah, “Lilah, is this your doing? Just wait, I will get my revenge!"

Lilah remained unfazed by his threat.

Trent reassured her, “Miss Phillips, don't worry. You're my business partner now. Let me know if you face any problems, and I'll assist you."

“Thank you, Mr. Barton," Lilah responded with gratitude.

Having been through numerous challenges, she was no longer easily intimidated.

"Let's get down to sign the contract. We'll start the construction in half a month." Trent laid out his immediate plans.
