The familiar scent of this man calmed her.
She wanted to cling to him, never letting go.
Who on earth wanted to destroy her purity?
As she pondered, her eyes flashed with hatred at the thought of Lilah.
It had to be her! That woman must have seen her closeness with Gerard and, she feared losing him, so she acted in secrecy.
Damn it!
Karol vowed that she wouldn't let Lilah off the hook.
As Gerard looked down at the woman clinging to him, he frowned and said harshly, “Let go of me, or I'll throw you into the sea to feed the fish!"
Unsure of how he would react, Karol reluctantly released him.
Gerard commanded, "Bring that man here!"
The subordinate beside Gerard nodded and headed toward Karol's room.
The other men standing beside Karol exchanged nervous glances and then turned their attention to Gerard, their anxiety palpable.
Gerard surveyed them and asked sharply, "Do you recognize that guy?"
The men responded in one voice, “No, I don't..."
Before they could continue, a sharp scream echoed from the back of the ship. "Ah!"
He glanced at the stern and soon spotted a man approaching with another fellow.
“Mr. Harris, this guy tried to jump off the ship and escape, but I caught him," the subordinate said, and then roughly pushed the man to the deck.
The man had narrow eyes. When he heard this, he realized Gerard must be the most powerful, so he quickly pleaded for mercy. "Mr. Harris, I'm sorry. Please forgive me and let me go."
Gerard's expression darkened. "Tie him and lock him in the cabin. When we reach land, hand him over to the police."
“Yes, sir," the subordinate acknowledged, and he tied the man with a rope.
The man continued to beg, "Mr. Harris, I admit I was wrong. It won't happen again."
Gerard remained silent. He was always fed up with guys like that.
Gerard's subordinate escorted the man away, and then Karol interrupted, "Mr. Harris, I'd like to ask him something.”
“Go ahead," Gerard responded flatly.
