Seeing the danger, Trent's face blanched, and he quickly warned, “Watch out, Miss Phillips!"

Before Lilah could react, Trent pushed her aside. The flowerpot smacked him on the head, causing a ringing noise in his ears. Then he blacked out and passed out.

“Mr. Barton!"

Lilah looked up to see someone quickly disappearing from the scene.

With no time to think further, she hurried to get Trent to the hospital.

While Trent was getting his head bandaged at the hospital, Lilah received a call from Gerard, saying, “Lilah, what are you up to right now?"

"I'm at the hospital," Lilah stated bluntly.

At the hospital? Why was she at the hospital?

Hearing this, Gerard's concern intensified.

Worried that Gerard might worry too much, Lilah quickly reassured him, “I'm not the one injured. Don't worry.”

Gerard relaxed and asked, "Then who is in the hospital? Are they hurt?"

She explained Trent's heroic act and said, "Trent saved me."

"Which hospital are you at? I'm coming over now. Are you alright? Do you know who did it?" Gerard asked as he closed his documents and stood up.

Trent Barton? Since he had saved Lilah, Gerard felt compelled to visit him.

Lilah replied, "I couldn't see who it was because they ran off too quickly. I was focused on getting Trent to the hospital, so I didn't chase after them."

It was clear that Lilah was the intended target.

Had Trent not intervened, she might have been the one in the hospital bed instead.

Who could it be?

Gerard asserted, "Leave it to me. I'll figure it out."

"Okay."

With Gerard on her side, Lilah felt relieved; he seemed to have everything under control.

“I need to go see Trent first. I'll send you the hospital address."

Lilah sent the hospital location to Gerard and then settled into a chair to wait for his arrival.

An hour later, seeing Trent motionless in the bed, Lilah was deeply concerned.
