Lilah fired back, "Now I get why your son is such a bully. It's clearly in the genes.”
Rosetta snapped, “You have no right to talk about my son Like that. You better get used to jail because that's where you're heading. Don't mess with people who are out of your league."
“Do you think this is your private courtroom?" Lilah shot back.
Rosetta replied, "I might not own this police station, but I have enough connections to keep you behind bars!"
The officer tried to calm things down. “Mrs. Brooks, your son isn't seriously hurt. Maybe we can work something out—"
Hodge cut him off, yelling, “You can't handle this? Call your deputy chief!"
His glare could burn through walls
The officer had no choice but to call in the deputy chief.
When the deputy chief showed up, he greeted Hodge, "You could've just called me. No need for you to be here. I've got this."
Rosetta was having none of it. She demanded, "I want her locked up for good!"
"Okay." The deputy chief nodded and told the officer, “Take her in. We'll sort out the rest later."
Lilah's voice went cold. “Aren't you going to ask what actually happened before you lock me up?"
"Here, my word is final." The deputy chief approached Lilah, his voice rising with accusation. "You only have yourself to blame, upsetting a big shot you shouldn't have messed with!"
Laura shouted, "Her boyfriend is Gerard Harris!"
Her words crashed like thunder through the tense air, leaving the room in stunned silence. Hodge collected himself, his expression cool.
“Gerard isn't going to challenge the Brooks family over a woman Like her."
Rosetta chimed in with a proud smirk, "He's surrounded by women. What would make him interested in her? Other than a pretty face, she's useless."
Sensing disbelief, Laura's voice held steady. "Back off now, and you can still make amends. Otherwise, you'll regret it when Gerard shows up."
Rosetta's laugh cut through the tension, dripping with sarcasm. “I'd like to see Gerard defy us over her if she ends up in prison."
Hodge scoffed, looking Lilah up and down. "Don't think Gerard is going to stand by you just because of your connection to him. The Brooks family is more than he'd risk."
Lilah was ready to respond, but her phone suddenly rang.
Glancing at the screen, she smiled and answered, "Gerard."
“Lilah, where are you?" His deep voice came through clearly.
"I'm at the police station," she whispered.
