“Our company's drivers are unavailable today. If you're not pressed for time, we can reschedule for tomorrow. I'll arrange for your department director to accompany you then."

Milly couldn't fathom letting Lilah slip away so easily.

In a rush, Milly declined, “No, I don't want to trouble the director. I happen to hold a driver's license. I can take the wheel."

Initially, Milly contemplated a plan to send the driver away. Now, only the two of them remained. It seemed that luck was on her side today.

Suddenly, Milly erupted into laughter, prompting a skeptical glance from Lilah.

As her laughter subsided, Milly addressed Lilah earnestly. "Miss Phillips, this marks my first time engaging in business dealings with you. I'm certain there's much to glean from the experience. Should I err, I humbly request your guidance for correction."

Lilah discerned Milly's underlying intentions but chose not to confront them.

She nodded and trailed Milly into the car. True to expectations, the GPS indicated the partner company as the destination.

Given that it was the company's vehicle, the GPS remained linked to the corporate system throughout the journey. Milly couldn't readily alter the destination without the password. Any attempt to do so would trigger an alarm once the GPS detected a deviation from the intended route.

Earlier that morning, during the director's meeting, Milly had stealthily obtained the password from her office.

Now everything was ready.

Milly drove the car somewhat absentmindedly, veering momentarily toward the designated destination.

“Miss Phillips, I'm uncertain about negotiating the contract with the other party. Could you enlighten me on the pertinent details?"

"Of course."

Lilah acquiesced, engaging Milly in a discussion about the intricacies of the business deal.

Some points Lilah shared were genuine, while others were fabricated to maintain credibility with Milly.

To intentionally delay their arrival, Milly maintained a low speed.

Lilah pursed her lips before remarking, “You're driving too slowly."

"To"

Milly was taken aback.

Had Lilah discovered something?

She lifted her gaze and scrutinized Lilah through the rearview mirror, but found nothing amiss.

Maintaining her composure, Milly offered a strained smile. "Do I? I'm not particularly skilled at driving. It's better to drive slowly than to have a car accident, isn't it?"

"You are right. Safety should always be the priority."
