Lilah chuckled. "What's got you down this time?"
"Look at this!"
With a mix of frustration and disbelief, Effie thrust her phone at Lilah. "I'm drowning in work! Who can handle all this?"
She continued her rant. "Now they even want me in a Taekwondo reality show. What do I know about martial arts?"
"Taekwondo?" Lilah raised an eyebrow. Scanning the schedule, Lilah realized it was a professional competition. It seemed Taekwondo wasn't getting much attention lately, hence the TV show tie-in.
But with Effie's slender build, mastering Taekwondo would be a real challenge.
“Life's easier if you're willing to give up, trust me."
"Lilah, shouldn't you be cheering me on instead?"
Lilah shook her head, her expression serious. “Sometimes, you gotta embrace your weaknesses."
Effie was left speechless.
Effie sighed. "I'm just not sure how to do it. If I did, I'd be all in."
She started scrambling for excuses.
"I could show you," Lilah said.
Effie was surprised. “Lilah, how do you know all this? You're amazing! You're already a pro. It's enough for our family. I might as well bow out."
Watching Effie, Lilah shook her head with a mix of amusement and concern. "You..."
“Haha, but you've got fighting skills. Maybe you could show me sometime."
"No problem."
During dinner, Lilah stole glances at her phone, feeling uncertain as she checked the time set with Absolon.
At the Morris residence...
"Miss Morris, I forgot to mention something." The assistant called Karol again. "Mr. Morris asked about the room. He's planning to bring his biological daughter home soon. He wants her to feel at home here."
“Dad wants me to leave the house?" Karol asked.
"No, Mr. Morris never said that. Please don't worry too much."
The time had come for Absolon welcoming Lilah home. He guided Lilah toward the Morris family's banquet hall.
"Lilah, try to relax. You are the star of this party.”
