Her words carried a veiled insult, hinting that Lilah's only focus was her own gluttony.

Unperturbed, Lilah simply nodded with a cheerful smile. "Alright."

Seeing this, Danna added, “Lilah, are you aware of the upcoming Taekwondo competition? Karol has been practicing since childhood, and she's exceptionally talented. We never have to worry about her handling things on her own."

"Yes, I've heard about it," Lilah replied, nibbling on her bread without bothering to look up.

She had more than just heard about it-an invitation from the organizer had arrived a month ago. Despite this, she was still unsure whether she wanted to participate.

Her interest in such events had waned over time.

“Lilah, this Taekwondo competition is hosted by the largest association in the city. It's happening at the Tiger Claw Center. I've already applied, and they'll approve my registration soon. Then I'll be able to compete."

Karol leaned in, her face resting in her hands, a smile spreading across her lips. "This competition is pretty exclusive. It's no surprise you haven't heard of it. Don't worry, though. I can take you to watch from outside the venue."

Lilah almost choked on her bread.

Watch from outside the venue?

How thrilling.

“Thanks, Karol. I'll get to see your skills in action then," Lilah replied with a nonchalant shrug.

Seeing that Lilah didn't get agitated, Karol's expression faltered slightly.

After a moment's thought, she added, "Grandma, I heard that Gerard is one of the shareholders of the Taekwondo Association. He'll be personally presenting the award to the champion.”

Danna perked up with interest. "Oh, really?"

Karol's determination shone through. "Grandma, I'll do my best to win this award for you. I want to see you happy with the trophy in your hands."

Her confidence was palpable.

With Gerard being Lilah's boyfriend, Karol envisioned the moment he'd hand her the award while Lilah watched helplessly.

She relished the idea of Lilah's humiliation in front of everyone.

Lilah had no idea Gerard would be presenting the award. However, she did receive a message from Briseis Wagner, the organizer of the competition. “Lilah, the list of participants has been released. Please help us review it."

Lilah had once fought her way through international Taekwondo competitions, rising from an unknown contender to a celebrated champion.

During that time, she met Briseis. They both made it to the final round, where Lilah ultimately triumphed.

Later, she learned that Briseis' father was the chairman of the Taekwondo Association in Eleywood. The association ran over a dozen Taekwondo training centers and frequently organized competitions.

Briseis had often invited Lilah to join the association as a tutor, but Lilah always declined, claiming she had no interest in dealing with youngsters who knew nothing about the sport.
