A towering figure stepped into the room, silhouetted against the Light.
His stern expression darkened at the sight that lay before him.
A tense silence filled the air and everyone held their breath instinctively.
Though still a bit woozy, Lilah felt a sense of unease creeping over her.
She attempted to remove the blindfold but it only tightened further.
Normally calm and collected in her CEO role, Lilah was now in a panic.
“Did you enjoy yourself?"
The intruder's voice, cold and familiar, cut through the room Like a chill wind, nearly making Lilah shiver.
Cold sweat beaded on her back as she sobered up.
But she hesitated, unsure whether to remove the blindfold.
Taking it off would anger him, yet leaving it on wouldn't ease his mood either.
“It's alla misunderstanding..." Briseis began, realizing her error and attempting to defuse the situation. “I invited them... She had nothing to do with it..."
But her explanation only fueled Gerard's anger further.
"Get out!" Gerard's voice was as cold as ice.
Briseis lost her nerve instantly, being the first to flee from the room.
Lilah's heart raced, and her first instinct was to run.
She felt the danger looming, and the effects of the alcohol had completely worn off.
"Well..." She feigned confusion, attempting to leave. She reached out, her hands flailing and her voice quivering. "Briseis, where are you..."
However, before she managed even two steps, someone clutched the back of her collar.
“Lilah, do you fancy guys who are six feet tall?" Gerard gently lifted the blindfold from her eyes, his gaze landing on her naturally beautiful face, which Left him momentarily spellbound.
Her makeup-free face looked refreshingly simple yet sophisticated, her soft features momentarily distracting him.
Yet, his irritation was unmistakable.
He was shocked that she had actually gone out looking for young men for fun.
“No, weren't you right in front of me just a moment ago?" Lilah offered an innocent smile.
