“Pfft! Ridiculous. Do you think I'll fall for that? I wasn't at the backstage area..."

Karol abruptly stopped, realizing her mistake.

Lilah smirked, her eyes reflecting scorn. "You really are foolish, Miss Morris"

Karol was furious. She jumped up, pointed at Lilah, and yelled, "You framed me, witch! How dare you!"

"A clear conscience fears no accusation. Miss Morris, next time you scheme, make sure you leave no evidence. I was ready to show the video if you tried to frame me at the competition venue. Too bad you didn't. What a shame!"

Lilah chuckled darkly, shrugging.

The reason she had been late for the match was that she had gone to retrieve the surveillance footage. Luckily, Karol hadn't managed to destroy any evidence yet.

Suddenly, Danna signaled to a servant nearby.

The servant quickly moved to snatch the USB drive from Lilah.

Lilah scoffed, grabbed her wrist, and forcefully shook it off.

The servant screamed in pain and fell to the floor, looking pale.

She struggled to catch her breath.

Danna and Karol stared in shock at what was happening.

"Mrs. Morris, you're old, but you still do not understand a truth. Don't you know spoiling a child too much is like killing them? Miss Morris used to be a nice girl. You've turned her into someone narrow-minded, scheming and jealous. She's like a maggot in the toilet. I pity my father." Lilah's tone turned icy. She didn't care about Danna's feelings.

"Shut up!" Danna exploded. "You've no right to lecture me. Who do you think you are?"

"Do I even have the right to lecture you? You're the most capable person in the world. I'm low and worthless, only fit to kiss your feet. I'm terrified," Lilah replied casually.

Danna, furious, stepped back and collapsed onto the sofa.

“You bitch! How dare you disrespect Grandma!" Karol shouted, wiping her tears off her face. She grabbed a teacup from the table and smashed it on Lilah.

As the hot tea almost splattered on Lilah, a strong hand pushed her away.

But the tea ended up splashing all over him.

“Why are you here?" Lilah asked Absolon, subconsciously reaching out to him. She noticed his scalded hand turning red.

“Go and take care of that scald, Dad. Blisters will pop up and it's going to sting," Lilah said in a worried tone.

Absolon frowned, giving her shoulder a reassuring pat. "I'll be fine."

Feeling guilty, Karol avoided his gaze, while Danna was boiling with anger.
