The faces of the guests milling about seemed vaguely recognizable, reminiscent of figures she might have seen on TV. Surprised by the caliber of those in attendance, Lilah grasped the true extent of Brenda's social stature. Though she managed to maintain an outward facade of calm, inwardly, she was reeling from the alien environment.

Then, amidst the throng of unfamiliar faces, she identified a figure she knew.

"Brenda," Lilah greeted with a beaming smile. “Happy birthday to you!

Wishing you a lifetime of happiness! And here's the gift I've brought for you."

“Oh my, you brought a gift for me!" Brenda exclaimed in surprise.

She was dressed in an elegant black and white gown today, exuding an air of sophistication. Her silver hair was tastefully styled, giving her a graceful and refined appearance. A warm smile graced her typically cool demeanor as she saw Lilah. "Thank you, Lilah. You Look stunning today."

"You're positively youthful and radiant today, Brenda." Lilah's eyes sparkled with sincerity.

"Ha-ha, I absolutely adore your kind words." Brenda playfully tapped Lilah on the head.

Maggie and Iker made their entrance into the venue. The opulent banquet hall's lavish decor left them in awe. Maggie's eyes glittered with admiration. The Harris family was indeed living up to its esteemed reputation.

It was their first experience attending such an event. Iker recognized a few familiar faces and exchanged greetings, while Maggie scanned the crowd in search of the evening's star.

If she could approach Brenda, capturing Gerard would be a breeze.

However, her attention shifted to a familiar face.

“You've just arrived, right? Let's greet Mrs. Harris first," Iker's friend suggested, guiding them toward Brenda. Maggie's eyes widened in disbelief. Then she heard Iker's friend's voice clearly in her ear.

“This is Mrs. Harris. Mrs. Harris, they are the Lewis kids."

Maggie's mind went blank.

The older woman who had gone shopping with Lilah was, in fact, Brenda Harris?

Good grief! What had she said at that time? Had she cursed Brenda?

She wanted to give herself a good, hard slap, but she forced herself to remain composed. She smiled and greeted Brenda, “Hello, Mrs. Harris."

Iker also extended his polite greetings.

As soon as Brenda spotted them, her demeanor cooled down. "Welcome.

Make yourselves at home and enjoy the food and drinks."

She then led Lilah to sample some other delicacies. “Lilah, try some of the dishes. They are catered to suit the tastes of young people.”

"Thank you, Brenda."

"Ha-ha, you're too polite." Brenda's eyes sparkled with unfeigned delight.
