Their eyes locked, and a flurry of emotions flickered in his dark, intense eyes.
Surprise, regret, concern, anger...
"Let's go," she said, starting to calm down as she neared him.
He ushered her into the car and the driver took off quickly.
As the car sped away, Lilah caught Darian's resentful expression.
He yelled, “Just wait!"
Lilah stayed silent, feeling a wave of relief. Tears welled up as reality sank in.
"Don't move. I'll take it off for you," Gerard murmured, his voice rough. “I can't believe you had the nerve to tie it.”
She didn't respond but just bowed her head and let the tears fall.
She felt a mix of fear and gratitude.
Luckily, she had made it back. She couldn't bear to think of what might have happened to Gerard.
“It's alright now," he whispered, holding her close, full of empathy.
She felt as if she'd been through a nightmare and had finally woken up.
"Let's go home," she said as a wave of exhaustion washed over her.
She lost track of time.
When Lilah woke again, it was night, and she was in a large, soft bed.
She tried to rise but felt sore and dizzy. The recent days' memories flooded back.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. As she attempted to sit up, she noticed someone beside the bed.
It was Gerard, asleep with his head resting on the bed.
Lilah was taken aback.
He slept peacefully, exuding a calm aura.
Lilah felt a pang of sympathy for him.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Suddenly, her phone rang loudly.
