They were in the middle of filming, and Ruth was sure that the more Lilah appeared to bully Hadley, the more likely it was that viewers would sympathize with her plight and criticize Lilah.
With a secret grit of her teeth, Hadley envied the others who were laughing and bonding around them.
“Is this okay?" she asked, leaning against the wall and slightly bending her knees.
Lilah Looked at Hadley with disdain before she put the laptop aside, stood up, and began to instruct Hadley on how to correct her posture.
“Lean your back against the wall and bend your knees more. Keep your arms level and stop shaking. You need to keep this position for at least twenty minutes."
Lilah acted with a sternness akin to a harsh coach.
Hadley felt tears welling up, yet she clenched her teeth and persevered, thinking of her future.
However, within minutes, Hadley's thin legs began to quiver violently like chaff blowing in the wind.
"I can't continue, Lilah. May I stop?" She clenched her teeth as she uttered her words.
Lilah kept her eyes on her keyboard and typed as she responded, "No, you're not done yet."
"Lilah, shouldn't you start with the basics like the history and techniques of Taekwondo on the first day instead of jumping straight into this?" Ruth interjected, her voice full of sympathy for Hadley.
Hadley tried to muster a tear, her face contorted with pain.
“Why don't you be her coach then?" Lilah said without looking up, clearly not taking Ruth's suggestion seriously.
Ruth, speechless, looked at the camera and hesitated, unsure of what to say next.
“Perhaps everyone has their own techniques. Let's see the results after a week," Malcom said, smiling.
Ruth simply sighed and walked away without further comment.
The silence settled back in.
Suddenly, Lilah's Laptop beeped, signaling the arrival of a new email.
She opened it and found it was sent from an anonymous sender.
"Lilah, when will you return? The elders are stirring up trouble again after not seeing you for a few months. They're talking about splitting off, and we can't manage without you."
Lilah's expression turned into a frown.
She had been too busy to visit lately, yet she knew she couldn't neglect this urgent matter.
After pondering for a moment, she started typing her response.
“Retrieve the leader's token and instruct them to fulfill their duties."
