He scrutinized the woman before him, trying to guess the makeup she wore behind the roses.

"Mr. Harris, do you refuse to accept them?" she asked again in a pleasant tone.

The group trembled, eyeing Gerard anxiously, unsure how to react.

“I'll take them," Gerard declared suddenly. He carefully took the bouquet.

The executives were dumbfounded.

What was happening? How was this possible? Could their boss really be having an affair? Was he cheating on Lilah?

“Thank you," Gerard murmured, holding the bouquet in one hand and gently clasping Lilah's hand with the other, his expression soft and affectionate.

As their eyes met, a flicker of surprise crossed his deep gaze.

She wore a simple high ponytail and casual attire, without a trace of makeup.

Yet to him, this was her most captivating appearance.

“Let's go have dinner," he said, ignoring his entourage, before leading Lilah away.

The others remained in stunned silence.

“I got you some cakes," Lilah said once they were in the car, presenting the small gifts she had prepared.

Gerard's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Why are you spoiling me today?"

Lilah opened the cake box and offered him a small slice with a spoon.

“Because I have something important to discuss with you," she replied.

Gerard paused, surprise flickering in his eyes.

Lilah proceeded to recount the events of the past few days. She mentioned the three difficult old men and her rigorous martial arts training under their guidance.

She omitted any mention of Darian, only specifying that the elders were staying with her.

“How many things do you keep from me?" Gerard asked with a fond, wry smile. He affectionately rubbed her nose.

"I wasn't ready to tell you this, but today they were acting strangely. I need your help to figure it out," Lilah explained sincerely, knowing he wouldn't fault her for holding back.

After a moment of quiet reflection, Gerard squeezed her hand reassuringly. “Whatever happens, I'll always be by your side."

A wave of warmth washed over Lilah. “Let's go meet them. Let's hope it's all good."

It was the first time Gerard would meet those three men who were important to Lilah. He had his staff prepare numerous precious gifts tailored to their preferences, filling the entire car with a pile of presents.
