As Lilah left, the room seemed to come alive. The older men heaped praise on Gerard, lauding him for his perceptiveness and thoughtfulness.

Gerard chuckled. “I happen to have a few bottles of good wine. Care to join me for a few glasses?"

The older men's eyes Lit up with excitement.

Of course, Gerard couldn't partake. He called for tea and some exquisite dishes, transforming the tense situation into a surprisingly convivial gathering.

The three older men were well-acquainted with gourmet meals and fine wines, yet they seemed even more joyful today than usual. As they enjoyed drink after drink and talked with Gerard, the mood around them became lively.

"You're really kind to offer us these drinks. Once we're tired of traveling around the world, we'll bring you some fine wines," Cyrus said, swaying slightly as he sipped directly from the bottle.

Devonte, nodding in agreement, gave Gerard a friendly pat on the shoulder. "And if you introduce me to a woman who loves to dance, I'll like you even more!"

Gerard could only shake his head, somewhat at a loss.

He played with his teacup and asked with a slight smile, "So, why do you insist on leaving right now?"

His question was gentle, almost as if making casual conversation.

By this time, Devonte had slumped onto the couch, reeking of alcohol.

"We're heading out to travel all around the world. No need for questions."

"That's right. We're older now and not as useful, but we just want to go out and explore more of the world."

"Don't bring up that question again. It's really irritating."

Even though the three were drunk, they stayed alert.

Gerard, remaining composed, calmly said, "You plan to travel the world without any money?"

Upon hearing that, the three were shocked.

They appeared offended and stood up one by one.

"It was just an accident."

"Who doesn't face unexpected challenges in life?"

"When we were at our best, you were just a clueless kid."

The three spoke loudly and energetically.

Their discomfort, however, was apparent.

Gerard watched them closely, giving Cyrus extra attention as he frowned.
