"Go locate Jerrold and the others first." Lilah glanced at Hadley, who nodded before darting away with apprehension.

“Lilah, our encounter could have been peaceful, but you chose to provoke me. Let's see if you can slip away smoothly today." Ruth smirked wickedly, arms crossed confidently.

"Security." Lilah motioned to a female guard. "She's not our guest. Remove her from here."

Ruth was incredulous. “Are you insane, Lilah?"

Despite her protestations, Ruth was escorted out by Lilah's staff.

A cluster of attendees witnessed the spectacle, their curiosity piqued. Some inquired about the ejected individual, prompting mild ridicule but Little else.

Shortly after, the emcee took the stage.

Following brief opening remarks, the emcee proceeded to introduce the individuals in charge of the event.

This signaled that anyone interested in collaborating could approach them directly.

Trey waited anxiously, his gaze fixed on Lilah. "Lilah, I'm still rattled by the earlier incident. My personal discomfort aside, it shouldn't reflect on the company."

He had briefly appeared confident earlier, but now he was timid.

Lilah comforted him with a smile and a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Don't be afraid. I'm here. No matter what happens, we'll figure it out."

Looking at Trey's gaunt face, Lilah felt a sigh escape her heart.

Previously, Trey was vibrant. Despite appearing improved outwardly post-incident, his heart remained scarred.

Trey smiled gratefully. "With you, Lilah, I fear nothing."

Just then, the emcee called Trey's name, introducing him to everyone.

A new recruit in the company's research and development department, Trey was skilled in perfume modulation and held several patents.

Taking a deep breath, Trey walked onto the stage amid cheers from the crowd.

As the guests cheered for him, happiness swelled in Trey's chest. He waved to everyone and stood proudly beside the emcee.

He proceeded to introduce several types of perfumes.

Lilah listened attentively, deeply moved by his significant improvement compared to before.

The young man shed his youth and arrogance, presenting only calm and sincerity to the public.

As Trey finished his speech and prepared to bow in gratitude to the audience, a sudden, jarring voice cut through the air.

“Have you forgotten about your past plagiarism?"
