Ruth's eyes teared up, yet she kept her proud look. She glared angrily at Lilah and yelled, "Sorry! Does that satisfy you?"

She had intended to perform convincingly, but confronted with Lilah's despised visage, she couldn't bring herself to say the words.

It proved too much for her.

“It appears that Miss Ruiz doesn't really want to apologize."

Lilah picked up her coffee and took a gentle sip.

Today, she wore a simple gray Loungewear outfit that softened her demeanor completely, smoothing out any rough edges.

But the moment she spoke, the familiar feeling of tension returned.

Rubbing his hands together, Bowden looked remorseful as he said, "I'm truly sorry. It's my fault for not raising my daughter properly. Miss Phillips, please accept this small token of our apology. I hope you can overlook this incident and forgive my daughter this time."

With that, he signaled the accompanying bodyguards to bring forward several expensive-looking gift boxes.

Bowden opened each one, revealing precious and luxurious treasures.

They contained a diamond necklace, an expensive perfume bottle, a large golden ornament...

At first glance, there were at least seven or eight items.

Lilah couldn't help but chuckle. "Mr. Ruiz, you must know I already have these things."

Hearing this, Bowden looked flustered. “Of course. But after my daughter's serious mistake, I don't know what else might persuade you to forgive her. I could only think of what girls typically like."

"Mr. Ruiz, I can see your sincerity, but that's not what matters..."

Lilah sighed, signaling a servant to bring Bowden a fresh cup of hot coffee.

“Lilah, I already said sorry to you. What more do you want? If you're mad, take it out on me. Don't make it hard for my dad!" Ruth exclaimed, unable to bear it any longer.

How could her respected father stoop to pleasing this woman?

"Do you even grasp what you did wrong?" Lilah asked calmly. “Every time we've faced off, you've given your all to beat me, only to suffer a crushing defeat."

Ruth's expression turned ashen in an instant.

Reflecting back, she realized she had never truly triumphed over Lilah.

A tidal wave of shame washed over her, and she clenched her jaw, seething with rage.

“If Mr. Ruiz hadn't come today, honestly, I wouldn't have bothered to meet you," Lilah stated bluntly, her words cutting through Ruth Like a hot knife through butter.

"Miss Ruiz, I'm offering you one final opportunity for the sake of Mr. Ruiz, but keep in mind, I've documented all your previous actions. If there's a next instance, I'll address all our grievances, old and new."
