As long as Lilah was happier than she was, that was enough.
The car made its way back along the coastal highway, the strong sea breeze sweeping in, laden with the salty, moist scent of the ocean.
It left a salty residue on everyone's hair, skin, and even mingled with the sweat dripping down.
Once back at the hotel, everyone showered and gathered in the Living room of Lilah's suite for a meeting.
The elderly men confirmed the plan to head back to Luna Island to seek the antidote and help Lilah take over the Fearless League.
"You naughty girl, don't assume that with our backing, you can easily control others. The vice leaders are tough opponents. And your senior fellow apprentice, Barth, who used to be such a sweet, obedient child, has become so covetous. What changed as he grew up?" Devonte murmured.
Kyler added, "And don't forget your training. No matter how late you return each day, make time to practice the techniques we've taught you. Understand? Don't let your skills lapse, or you'll lose in a single move and embarrass us."
The two discussed these serious and urgent problems.
Yet, Lilah was distracted. Her mind was still replaying the events of the day.
Something didn't sit right with her.
After she asked her question, Miranda's expression had shifted noticeably. Initially, Lilah thought her question might have upset Miranda, but she now suspected otherwise.
Could it be that Miranda was the person Darian had been searching for?
But why would she hide it?
Lilah was caught in a dilemma. The clue was close at hand. It was difficult for her to decide whether to continue the investigation or stop it.
“Hey, hey, you little troublemaker, we've been talking to you, but you haven't heard a single word!" Devonte waved his hand in front of Lilah and glared at her with dissatisfaction.
It was not until then that Lilah snapped back to reality and nodded, "Understood. We'll discuss it when we return."
Then she stood up and walked toward her bedroom.
Staring at her slender, distracted figure, Gerard looked contemplative.
Then he called someone to continue investigating the identity of Miranda.
They spent one more night at the hotel and then prepared to return to Eleywood.
Before boarding, the group received the unfortunate news that Darian had been whisked away by someone who had come to pick him up.
Thus, Darian had fled before their return to Eleywood.
“That scoundrel really has fortune on his side to escape Like that,"
Devonte muttered angrily.
