Her usually nice attitude turned cold, her eyes showing she was very serious. If the laws there weren't so strict, she wouldn't have settled for just this.

Fifteen minutes later, Darian woke up, glancing around in confusion at the calm girl standing before him.

"What happened to me? What did you do to me?" Darian asked, his voice tinged with fear. He knew she was clever, but he had no clue what she could've done.

“It's just a bit of sterilizing medicine," Miranda replied coolly, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"What did you just say?"

Darian paled, his face showing disbelief, wondering if he was dreaming.

"Please, sit down and hear me out," Miranda said softly, her tone gentle but firm. "Or things could get a lot worse."

Darian's breathing quickened, his face flushing with disbelief.

How could this be? She must be lying. She had helped him cure his impotency before. She couldn't just...

“Why did you do that? Don't you know how much I care about you? I've gone against my whole family for you. Why won't you just give me a chance?" Darian pleaded, struggling to contain his frustration.

“You don't deserve it," Miranda said calmly, taking a sip of her coffee. "You fall for everyone you meet. I'm just the only one you think is worth something. Once you're done with me, you'll toss me aside."

She knew him too well.

"No, that's not true. I love you more than anything. I'd do anything for you. How can you accuse me like this?" Darian's eyes twitched with anger as he felt his inner thoughts were exposed, though he tried to hide it.

“I don't have time for this," Miranda cut in sharply. “We dealt with our past stuff ages ago. Consider this a warning. If you keep bothering me or anyone else, you'll regret it."

Miranda shot him a cold, threatening look.

Darian's anger was ready to explode.

He stood abruptly, towering over the woman before him. “Did you really drug me?"

Fear crept into his heart. His father would never approve of a son who couldn't have kids, and his family wouldn't stand for such failure.

"If you admit you lied to me, I won't hold it against you. We can start fresh and have a big wedding. I won't force you to sleep with me. I'll wait for you to accept me wholeheartedly," Darian said, trying to smile, though it came out more Like a grimace.

It was hard for him, but he managed a smile.

He Looked hopefully into Miranda's eyes.

Unfortunately, he was about to be let down.

Miranda calmly sipped her coffee, and then smirked mockingly.

"No way!" Darian snapped, overwhelmed by humiliation and rage. He swept everything off the coffee table, sending it crashing to the floor.
