Karol glared at her. She was eager to end Lilah's life.

“No way. My father won't forgive you. He'll make sure you pay for this!"

Lilah smirked and said, "Oh, if our father found out how you treated his other biological daughter, he might just throw you out. I could tell him about it, and I bet he'd make you pay dearly."

Then she made to leave.

"No, no!"

Karol trembled with anger. She suddenly sprang up and picked up the knife. Then, she decisively sliced her own leg with it.

Lilah raised her eyebrows, surprised by how quickly Karol had acted.

“Get out of here!"

Karol, pale and shaking, tried to cover her leg wound and staggered, collapsing on the floor.

Her eyes burned with intense hatred.

The next day, Lilah visited Barth.

She had appointed Jeffery to assist Barth. They had convinced the Taekwondo Association, who allowed them to establish a new branch of the Fearless League next to their existing building. This way, the two organizations could support each other, benefiting both.

Jeffery saw her and greeted her with a warm smile.

“Lilah, it's great to see you. I thought you might have forgotten about us."

As he said this, he scratched his head, his eyes looking both shy and innocent.

Lilah found his behavior amusing. She didn't expect he was as naive as a child, a far cry from Sherwood.

"I brought some snacks for you. Take them and share with everyone,”

Lilah said with a smile as she handed Jeffery a big bag of goodies.

Jeffery accepted it with pleasure and went to distribute it to the others.

Barth emerged from his office, and his past melancholy had faded considerably.

“That's a win for you, but the tough part still falls on me," he quipped.

Lilah laughed softly, looking relieved. "I just want you to move on quickly, you know? How about I take you guys out for dinner tonight?"

“That sounds awesome!" Jeffery jumped in before Barth could say anything. “I'm craving fried chicken and cola."

Lilah was taken aback.
