"I... I..." Karol's mind spun, desperately searching for a way out of her situation.

"Karol, don't be scared. I'm here. I won't let anyone hurt you!"

Seeing Karol's pitiful expression, Danna was choked up with tears and felt a surge of sympathy. She shoved Lilah aside and shouted angrily, "You little wretch! How dare you mistreat Karol in front of me! Do you think I'll just let this slide? If you don't kneel and apologize to her right now and hurt yourself, I'll call the police!"

Lilah frowned deeply.

If it weren't for Absolon, she would have kicked this unreasonable old woman out right then and there.

“I dare you to do that!" Brenda shot Danna a cold, unyielding look, not intimidated by her threats.

“Mrs. Harris, Karol helped you with your illness. Even though she was delayed later because of her own injuries, that doesn't mean you should stand by while this nasty girl bullies her!" Danna said through gritted teeth.

"Then show me the proof, or I'll sue you for defamation!" Richard chimed in, siding with Brenda. Both of them showed unwavering trust in Lilah, which reassured her.

“You're far more important than I am at home right now. If I'd been in your shoes, I doubt they would've made such a fuss," Gerard joked.

Lilah couldn't help but laugh at this.

Danna, seeing Lilah's reaction, lost her temper completely. She jabbed her finger at Lilah's nose and yelled, "You little bitch, how dare you laugh!"

Lilah extended her arms and shrugged. “Danna, if you're up for hearing the entire story, please listen. If not, we'll have to ask you to leave.”

"That's unnecessary! Just come with me to the police station!"

Danna didn't really plan on taking things to the police. She was just trying to scare Lilah.

However, Lilah surprised everyone by agreeing to this.

“Alright, going to the police station is fine. If I'm in the wrong, I'll own up to it. Let's go, Miss Morris."

To everyone's astonishment, Lilah helped Karol up with a considerate gesture.

"No, we don't need to go to the police station. Grandma, let's just drop it. It's not that big of a deal. Let's head back, okay?" Karol was scared and urgently held onto Danna‘s arm, her eyes begging.

Danna frowned and started to sense that something was off.

"Then explain to me, why did you do that?" Danna asked Lilah.

“It's straightforward. She slashed someone's face, left them scarred, locked them up, forced them to teach her acupuncture, and then used that knowledge to treat Brenda. Once that person was gone, she obviously couldn't treat Brenda anymore..."

"Be quiet!"

Karol went pale as a ghost, but it was too late to stop Lilah.

Lilah's words were clear and precise. She covered what she needed to without saying anything she shouldn't.
