No wonder they were related.

"Scared?" Lilah scoffed. "I've never been scared of anything."

“How dare you!" Kaden's whole demeanor radiated menace. "Lilah, let go of Karol, and I'll make sure your corpse stays in one piece."

The men in black quickly advanced, blocking every possible escape route for Lilah.

Though Lilah wasn't scared at all, she wasn't in the mood for a fight. She aimed to wrap things up quickly.

“Kaden, if they take another step, I'll break your sweetheart's neck. Don't think I won't do it.”

Lilah concentrated all her strength in her right hand, making Karol shake and turn ashen.

“Help, help me..."

Karol fought desperately but could only manage to whisper a plea for help.

Kaden's expression grew dark, and the dagger in his hand was poised to slice Miranda's neck.

"Swap the hostages!" he growled through clenched teeth.

Lilah raised an eyebrow and warned, “If you try any funny business, you'll regret it.”

After saying that, Lilah tightened her hold on Karol's neck and took two steps forward.

Kaden glared at Miranda, demanding she get up. With a casual look, Miranda replied that she was too weak to move. Infuriated by her response, Kaden roughly hauled her to her feet.

“How rude! You're fit to be nothing more than a Lapdog. Karol's just using you. Once you're no longer useful, she'll toss you aside without a second thought," Miranda continued to mock.

Kaden was visibly irritated by her comments.

“Say another word, and I'll kill you!"

Kaden's anger was unmistakable.

Miranda shrugged, showing no interest in responding further.

"I'll count to one, and then we'll exchange hostages," Kaden said, staring directly at Lilah.

Lilah nodded in agreement.
