“Don't worry. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. We'll ensure they suffer. But first, you need to tell me where the other passage is. I'd prefer not to drag them out through this route, especially with all of Gerard's people outside," Darian said with a smile, his demeanor calm.
“I'll take them out. Karol, you go upstairs. If anyone asks, claim you've been inside the entire time." With a final reminder, Kaden gently pushed Karol into the secret passage.
She did not hesitate, quickly making her way upstairs.
As soon as Karol emerged from the hidden passage and restored the room to its original state, Gerard's men arrived.
The instant one of them spotted her, surprise flickered across his face. He swiftly reported her presence to Gerard.
"Mr. Harris, what brings you here?" Karol settled calmly on the sofa, legs crossed, a cup of coffee in hand. Her demeanor was serene, as if nothing out of the ordinary had transpired.
Gerard, however, ignored her.
His piercing gaze swept over the entire study before finally settling on the wall.
"Go away!" he commanded with icy finality.
Karol flinched but remained seated. "This is the Morris family home, not a place for reckless behavior."
Before she could say more, Gerard's gun was out, its cold muzzle pressed against her temple.
His face was a mask of fury, as if he were ready to pull the trigger at any moment.
Karol's face turned ashen, her body trembling uncontrollably.
“Fuck off!" Gerard growled again.
Unable to maintain her composure any longer, Karol clutched the desk and rose to her feet.
Her gaze fixed on Gerard as his hand made contact with the mysterious wall, leaving her feeling numb.
Fear gripped her tightly. If Gerard discovered the secret passage and caught Kaden, all would be Lost.
"Stop!" At that moment, Danna's voice rang out from the hallway.
Karol's relief was palpable as she dashed out of the room, tears streaming down her face. "Grandma, I'm so frightened!" Karol sobbed.
"Gerard scolded me without reason and ordered me to leave. I don't know what I did to anger him, but he's treating me so cruelly."
Her tears flowed freely, creating the illusion of a helpless victim.
Danna, fiercely protective of her granddaughter, was incensed upon seeing Karol's distress.
“Gerard, this is the Morris family home. If you still think of Lilah as part of the Morris family, then get out right now!"
Guests gathered outside were witnessing the confrontation. Danna‘s intention was clear: she wanted to publicly expose the Harris family's current leader's true nature to those who had always revered him.
However, Gerard paid her no heed, his focus solely on the wall. He continued to probe the surface, frustration etched across his features.
According to the surveillance footage, Lilah had entered the study.
Everything in the room was clearly visible-except for this particular wall, behind which lay an empty space. In other words, someone had concealed Lilah there.
“Did you hear me?" Danna's voice grew sharper as Gerard continued to ignore her. “Is it permissible for the Harris family to act with such disregard in someone else's home? You've gone too far!"
"What happened?" At that moment, Absolon squeezed through the crowd.
He had been discussing upcoming collaborations with several partners, and upon emerging, had discovered the disturbance at the house.
"Mr. Morris, Lilah is missing." Gerard's brow furrowed deeply, and in a low, tense voice, he asked, "Is there any hidden passage in your residence?"
