In contrast, Collen's expression soured as if he'd tasted something vile.

He stared at his feet for a long while, the echoes of mocking laughter already ringing in his ears.

Still unconvinced of his defeat, Collen plotted a sudden comeback. As Lilah offered Hadley pointers on her form, he saw his chance. Hadley, still reveling in her victory, was caught off guard.

Lilah's expression shifted in an instant. With a protective shove, she pushed Hadley aside and executed a stunning side kick, catapulting the sneak-attacking Collen through the air once more.

"Good!" erupted from the crowd, unable to hold back their applause.

They all had to concede—they had underestimated Hadley and Lilah. With merely two moves, the ladies had managed to intimidate them all.

The following rounds felt much more typical.

As the contest continued, everyone was quietly talking about how impressive Lilah was. They hadn't anticipated she could unleash such strength while looking so attractive.

"Sorry, I'm late."

At that moment, a chill voice rang out from the doorway. Everyone turned their heads, their eyes brightening with interest.

Hadley glanced over too, but her expression shifted when she recognized the newcomer.

It was Ruth. Hadley wondered why she was there. What a small world.

Lilah, however, remained unfazed. She just acknowledged Ruth and allowed her to take a seat.

"Thank you, Miss Phillips."

Ruth surprised everyone by being unusually polite. Once she took her seat, she showed no sign of harboring any ill intentions.

A few minutes later, she raised her hand and requested a chance to showcase her skills.

Lilah responded, "I'm aware of your abilities. I'll give you private training instructions. You won't need to join the others for this."

Lilah couldn't believe that Ruth had suddenly turned so pleasant. There had to be something off about her unexpected entry into the Fearless League.

Ruth's expression froze in disbelief. She looked at Lilah, her voice trembling, and said, "Miss Phillips, I just want to integrate quickly. I value this chance and hope to fit in well with everyone."

Lilah's face showed her concern.

The more rational Ruth sounded, the more puzzled Lilah became. "Let me give it a shot."

Hadley stepped forward with a grin for Lilah.

Lilah looked a bit taken aback and shook her head in disapproval.

But Hadley persisted, saying, "Miss Phillips, Miss Ruiz is really strong. I want to face her in a match too."
