Truthfully, Ruth's voice rang out loud and clear, brimming with vitality. She appeared completely unscathed.

The room fell into stunned silence.

It was only then that Ruth grasped she had been ensnared.

Her expression had turned fierce, her gaze piercing. Any further pretense of illness would now be met with suspicion.

Yet, showing no reaction would only deepen her embarrassment.

Mulling over her next move, Ruth clutched her chest, gasping for air. "I'm sorry. I got carried away. I know you didn't mean any harm."

"Enough with the act," Lilah snapped, her patience clearly running out. "You're perfectly fine. Stop this injured act.

You're even trying to pin the blame on me for assaulting you.

Do you take us for fools?"

Ruth stared at Lilah, bewildered, as if the accusations were foreign to her.

"Miss Phillips, I'm at a loss here. You... I've not caused a scene, yet you confront me so hostilely. Is this how the so- called Fearless League welcomes its newcomers?" Tears began to pool in Ruth's eyes as she blinked back her distress.

Lilah scoffed dismissively, “Alright, let's settle this. Come with me to the hospital for a thorough check-up. If you're hurt, I'll publicly apologize and resign as an instructor. But if you're fine, you leave immediately. You're nothing but trouble."

Her rage at Ruth was palpable.

Today marked the inaugural session of the Fearless League's branch here, which was disrupted by Ruth's relentless mischief.

Ruth's face blanched instantly. She remained quiet for an uncomfortably long period, evidently the most mortified person in the room.

"I see. But what exactly is she trying to accomplish? Is she attempting to smear the Fearless League?"

"I actually thought she was hurt, but clearly, she's quite the actress."

"Truly, all her dramatic talent is squandered on trivialities. It's no surprise her TV shows are a flop."

The table was turned yet again.

While no one criticized Ruth directly, the snickers and mocking glances directed at her were unmistakable.

Unable to tolerate the ridicule any longer, she stormed out with a resentful glare at Lilah, silently vowing revenge.

Lilah, unfazed by the drama, instructed Barth to strike Ruth from the member list and advised everyone against attending training sessions if injured. She further mandated monthly health check-ups to prevent any accidents.

At noon, Gerard and Jerrold arrived, bearing lunch for the group.

"Mommy, Hadley, come over here. I've picked out these meals just for you two. You're going to love them," Jerrold announced cheerfully, greeting Lilah with a bright smile.
